JLC LIVE 2010 New England

EPA Lead Safety

As of April 2010, the Toxic Substances Control Act will require contractors to test for lead paint in pre-1978 homes and if detected, use Lead Safe Work Practices.  This will require companies to be EPA registered and have a Certified Renovator available.

At JLC LIVE this March, the mandatory course to become an EPA-recognized “Certified Renovator” is being offered.  This (8) hour training class is geared toward construction contractors, painting contractors who will work on properties that have not been cited as being in violation of lead safety regulations and need to be rendered lead safe. .
